Class of 2009: "Position Yourself for Success"

With your degrees and the bar exam behind you, '09 grads ready to start your professional lives are invited to attend a special presentation on Monday, August 10, at noon in the Barrister Club. How to get involved in your local legal community, how to use social media to establish your professional presence, and how to use informational interviewing to land a job will be our discussion topics. Kacey Chappelear ('07), Ryan Crossley ('07), and Matthew Austin, Esq., will share lots of information of use to you whether you already have your job or are still looking.

Don't miss the interview boot camp August 10

Career services will present a boot camp for interview preparation on Monday, August 10, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 in Saxbe. In addition to discussions of (1) how to prepare for the substance of your interview and (2) how to make sure your style during the interview enhances that substance, two local firm hiring partners, a local firm's personnel coordinator and a Moritz '09 graduate/new associate will all discuss the interview process from their points of view. Our Lexis representative will hold an afternoon session also on August 10, showing specifics on how to prepare for your interview by creating a profile of your potential employer that includes the employer’s clients, judges they have appeared before and comprehensive overviews of the types of cases they take and the sides they represent at trial.

If you cannot attend our presentation on August 10, please come to a shortened version which will be presented at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 3; as detailed above, our Lexis rep will hold her session on the 3rd as well.
